In Tuesday’s general election, the Dublin City Schools general obligation bonds received 719 yes votes to 1,542 no votes. County voters approved the general obligation school bonds with a vote of 2,167 to 1,770. The county also approved the sales and use tax 3,265 to 2,810.
In the Dublin City Council races, Christopher Smith won over Jason Keyton 431-129 for ward 2 while incumbent Bill Brown finished with 309 to 279 against Jerome Pullen for ward 3. In the lone contested Dublin City School board race, incumbent James Lanier edged Regina McRae 293 to 283.
In the East Dublin election, Brenda Roberson became the first woman to be elected to the council, gathering 136 votes. Incumbent Al Williams took the other seat with 87 votes. Paul Sterling finished with 60 and Larry Drew had 55.
In the Montrose election, incumbent Mildred White beat Chris Sanders 34-25.
In the Dexter election, Donna Sapp had 63, Troy Wood followed with 55 and Byron Howell finished with 40 to take the three seats. Michael Coleman and Danyelle Lawhorn both finished with 39.

No. 1 Dublin ran for 451 yards in the first half alone to win a 77-48 shootout against Swannee on Friday night in the Shamrock Bowl.
West Laurens: 30
West Laurens pulled away with three second-half touchdowns to beat Upson-Lee 30-0.
East Laurens: 26
Southwest quarterback Malique Frazier threw four touchdown passes to help the Patriots hold off East Laurens, 46-25, on Friday night. Cole Strickland passed for three touchdowns and ran for another for the Falcons.
Region leader Pinewood ended Trinity’s playoffs hopes Friday with 51-0 win over the Crusaders.
