The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle wreck that killed three people in East Dublin late Sunday night.
According to Laurens County Deputy Coroner Nathan Stanley, a vehicle driven by Damarcus Tyrell Wimbush, 29, from Millen, Ga., was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle driven by Chelsea Elizabeth Wilson, 35, of Soperton, around 11:51 p.m. Sunday, May 3 at the intersection of Ga. Highway 29 South and JW Warren Road in East Dublin.
Wimbush was pronounced dead by Stanley on the scene around 1 a.m. Monday. Wilson and her daughter, Aliah Michelle Smith, 16, of Soperton, were transported to Fairview Park Hospital. A doctor pronounced Wilson dead at 1:12 a.m. A doctor also pronounced Smith dead around 2:37 a.m.
“Two other kids were with (Wilson and Smith) in the car as well,” Stanley said. “I didn’t know their ages. One was sent to Fairview and seemed to be okay. The other was airlifted to a hospital in Augusta and I have not heard anything about (that victim) who I believe was a boy.”
The cause of death for all three deaths were multiple blunt trauma due to a motor vehicle crash.
“It’s sad,” Stanley said. “A lot of lives changed in a split second.”
