East Laurens girls 72, Jefferson Co. 25
This rout was much smaller in scale than the 77-pointer that went down in Louisville a few weeks earlier, but the Lady Falcons (18-3, 9-1 region 2-High A) cruised in similar fashion as they dropped 15 unanswered in the first three and a half minutes, and extended that lead to 20 by the end of a quarter and 30 going into the half – sufficient for both final segments of the second half to be reduced to six minutes.

The Falcons (17-4, 8-2 region) needed no buzzer-beater, or overtime, to get past Jefferson County in this rematch thanks to a double-digit surplus in both the second (20-8) and fourth (29-9) quarters.
The Warriors rallied to get as close as three points late in the third, but went completely silent for the first four minutes of the final period as Zion Dixon, Anthony Pounds and Jeremiah Rozier keyed a run that stacked 15-straight points on top of East’s original lead of four.
Skyler Snead (25), Dixon (12) and Major Floyd (11) led the fast-paced offensive charge. Dixon added a team-high nine boards, and Snead seven assists.
Wheeler Co. 45, Dublin girls 44
A costly Lady Irish turnover led to the fast-break basket that flipped a one-point deficit into the final lead for Wheeler County with only a few seconds to go.
Dublin (10-10, 4-5 region 2-High A) came up empty on a couple of final mid-range attempts at the win as time expired.
Top scorer Khalil Maddox hit five triples, and finished with 18 points. Jordan Renfroe had 10 and eight rebounds.

Major shortfalls in quarters 1 and 3, which carried respective scoring gaps of 13 and 19 points, did the Irish in as their recent slide extended to eight games Friday night.
