With Hurricane Helene expected to pass through the midstate overnight, the Dublin City Schools announced plans to close for all students on Friday.

“Following the most recent briefing from the Dublin-Laurens County EMA, Dublin City Schools will be closed for all students on Friday, Sept. 27.  Staff may work from home.  All after-school games, activities and other extracurricular activities scheduled for today, Thursday, Sept. 26, and tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 27, have also been canceled,” the school system said in a news release.

The schools’ nutrition staff was preparing meals for each student to take home Thursday afternoon. Each bag will contain both one breakfast and one lunch.
