Dublin track and field squads honor 2024 standouts

Dublin High School’s track and field teams celebrated state championships and 28 state qualifiers during their awards ceremony held Thursday in the school cafeteria.
Coach Asa Chapman honored a host of Lady Irish, including the 4×200-meter State Champion relay team of Caitlyn Nesbitt, Azoria Lovett, Kayden Hope and Tahara Diallo.
The Lady Irish earned the region 2-High A runner-up trophy, setting new school records in the 100-meter, 200-meter, 800-meter, 4×100-meter relay, triple jump and shot put events.
Similarly, coach Ronald Bonner recognized NaSir Johnson for claiming the state championship in the discus, carrying on a family tradition set by brother Ramontei Dardy’s back-to-back state titles in the sport. Johnson broke school records in the shot put and discus, and set a new state record in discuss, while the Irish also set new school records in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays.
