FRIDAY NIGHT SCOREBOARD: November 7, 2025
A glance at this week’s local high school football results, including GIAA playoff matchups for Brentwood and Trinity, as well as your full area scoreboard.
The GIAA got this week’s playoff spotlight all to itself, as GHSA schools rested up over an association-wide week off leading into the first round of its postseason starting next Friday. Top AA seed Brentwood got its state championship defense off to a dominant start at home, while Trinity hung in but got worn down over a tough matchup with Briarwood that brought its season to an end in the quarterfinals.
Here’s a quick glance at both games, and your full area scoreboard. Full coverage of tonight’s action will follow, both online and in print, next week.
Briarwood 51, Trinity 9
Both offenses scored on their second plays from scrimmage, the Crusaders’ Tayt Evans hitting the jets on a long run to help tie the score at 7 with less than two minutes gone. But Briarwood would keep up its steady pace of gashing runs along methodical drives that reached the end zone three more times before the half. Trinity wasn’t able to achieve nearly the same level of consistency or rhythm, and would add just two more points – via safety – to its total as the last of opportunities to get back in the game passed by in the third quarter. Cutler Fleming and the Bucs piled on 24 unanswered the rest of the way to put away the win, and set up a rematch with Brentwood in next week’s state semifinals.
Brentwood 49, Windsor 21
The Eagles, as they often do, pounced in a hurry as Windsor punted on its first possession of the ballgame. Brentwood scored in a matter of plays on a Baylor Cobb play-action shot over the top to Tristan Robinson. The Knights lost a high snap on their next offensive play, and Austin Albright recovered to set up another short scoring drive, ending on a 13-yard Robinson carry. Cobb had to deal with a bad snap of his own on Brentwood’s third possession, but took it to the house from close to 70 yards anyway to stake the Eagles to a 21-0 lead. They’d add two more touchdowns in the last four minutes of the first quarter, as Cobb found Quez Collins on a fade pass and Robinson jogged in from a few yards out. Jackson Bragg bulled his way in from roughly 12, and Cobb slung one to J.W. Hitchcock for a third TD pass to put the night’s final bundle of hay in the barn with still five minutes left to half, though Windsor touchdowns late in the second, then once each in the third and fourth quarters spruced up the final margin.
