Twiggs County Country Festival returns this Saturday with 90+ vendors

Twiggs County’s seasonal Country Festival is back this Saturday, Sept. 19, and it’s expected to be the biggest one yet.

The event has reached full vendor capacity, with 92 vendors scheduled throughout the day. 

Organizer Rachel Butler said they’re now having to turn vendors away because they don’t have any more space.

The festival will feature a variety of business vendors including food trucks, floral arrangements, homemade crafts, snacks, clothing, corn hole and an all-ages “slime bar.”

One of the events scheduled for Saturday is a cakewalk where 100% of the proceeds will go to the Clance family, who lost their home in a house fire last month. 

According to Butler, they will also be accepting donations for the family including clothes, gift baskets, baked goods and gift cards.

The festival is also holding a raffle to help support the families of Nathan Madden and Austin Watts who were recently injured in a serious car wreck. According to Butler, half the proceeds will go to Madden’s and Watts’ families and the other will go to the winner.

Some of the vendors advertised for next weekend include MadMare Welding (welded art), Whittle Bee (handmade decor), Tinsel Lounge (hair tinsel), Shiver Shack (shaved ice), Dysfunction Junction (animal rescue), the Craft Barn (floral arrangements), Ole Country Traditions (baked bread and cookies), Designs by Reagan (jewelry), Dawg Eat Dog Concessions (hot dogs), Smoke It Up (barbecue) and Butler’s own Southern Grace Creations (decor and clothes).

The event will also feature live gospel music by April Bonner, Caitlyn Patricella, Aubryn Fritz, Joey Hoover, Ellie Worsham, David Loyd, David Coker, Heath Williams, Pam Evans, Paige Howard, Caleb Ingram and the Mercy Road Band.

The festival, which began on Butler’s property on Sgoda Road last year, is now too large to fit. In June, the festival moved to Riggins Mill Road to accommodate more vendors.

Now, Butler’s unsure if they’ll have to move locations again for December’s Country Festival, worried they’ll outgrow even the church.

Saturday’s festivities begin at 10 am at 854 Riggins Mill Road, in front of Stone Creek Baptist Church. The event is scheduled to go until 4 p.m.
