The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center announced Wednesday the opening of its new Outpatient and Women’s Health Clinic building at the medical center. Located on the east side of the campus, the $16 million facility will allow for better integration of services and the latest amenities to support veterans’ health care needs.

The eagerly anticipated 30,000-square-foot building will include new and enhanced space for existing primary care clinics as well as providing a new home for the medical center’s rapidly expanding Women’s Health Clinic. The new building relocates Primary Care’s Blue and Green care teams under one roof to enhance access for veterans and their families.

The new building will free up space for renovation of existing services locations, allowing for consolidation of some services which will enable the Medical Center to better serve outpatient veterans. The new construction also provides 100 new parking spaces.

Interim Medical Center Director Scott Reesman said that the medical center will host a grand opening for the complex within the next few months.

“We’re looking forward to showing off the new building to our friends in the community and will be inviting everyone to celebrate with us once we get our veterans settled in,” Reesman said.

Reesman added that services are being transitioned to the new building in phases to minimize disruptions to healthcare services with women’s health services operating now and general primary care expected to start within the month.

The Dublin VA provides care to approximately 40,000 veterans to 49 counties in Middle and South Georgia. Those interested in attending the grand opening and for information on other events at the VA are encouraged to visit its Facebook page at “Dublin VA Medical Center.”
