Fennell told an officer that he did not see the Toyota coming when he crossed the bypass.

The front of the Toyota hit the front passenger side of the GMC. Both vehicles spun, causing the back driver’s corner of the Toyota and the passenger bed area of the GMC to collide. The GMC rolled over and came to a stop on its roof, facing south. The Toyota stopped off of the road.

Fennell had complaints of left leg soreness but refused treatment by EMS.

Warren had a visible laceration to her forehead and a compound fracture to her leg. She also was hurting in her torso. Warren was transported to the heli-pad at the local hospital and flown to Atrium Health by Air Evac.

The 16-year-old was transported to the local hospital with complaints of right leg pain. According to the report, the driver of the GMC was at fault and charged with failure to yield after stopping.
