GOLF: West Laurens Middle School girls crowned region golf champions; Howell, Shepherd take low medalist honors
The Raider girls brought home the region title, and Sadie Shepherd and Keith Howell low medalist honors, as WLMS teams competed at the MGMSAA region tournament earlier this week.

The West Laurens Middle School girls golf team capped off a strong year by winning the MGMSAA Region Championship earlier this week.
Sixth-grader Sadie Shepherd shot 49 to claim the individual championship. Her score, combined with solid play from Laken Cesario, Alisa Paul and Taylor Wyatt, was enough to take first place over Vidalia by two strokes.

The Raider boys finished third overall, but Keith Howell won his second consecutive region low medalist award with an even-par 36. Howell is an eighth-grader and has finished as low golfer, or tied for first, in every match this season.
Other members of the WLMS boys team competing in the region tournament were Jackson Bradley, Lane Fountain, Chandler Jump, K.P. Osburn and Brayden Peebles.
