Additional charges have been made in an ongoing investigation into the former Carl Vinson VA Medical Center director who was arrested last year on child molestation charges by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
Manuel Davila, 55, of Dublin, was charged with child molestation and computer or electronic pornography on Friday, Feb. 14 by a LCSO deputy.
According to LCSO Cpt. Robbie Toney, these new charges were part of the previous arrest that happened last March. Davila was arrested last March after law enforcement responded to Fairview Park Hospital in response to a possible child molestation.
According to the LCSO, Davila was charged with four counts of child molestation, cruelty to children in first degree and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
After arriving at Fairview Park Hospital, the sheriff’s Investigations Division was brought in, and during the course of this investigation, Davila was arrested, the sheriff’s office said.
Davila was appointed director of the Dublin VA in January 2022. Prior to that, he was associate director for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System in New Orleans, La., after serving as associate director at the West Texas VA Heath Care System in Big Spring, Texas.
