Dublin teen charged with Sunday fatal shooting

A Dublin teen has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting and killing a 17-year-old Sunday morning.

A Dublin teen has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting and killing a 17-year-old Sunday morning.

Rodney Coady, 17, was taken into custody Monday for his involvement in the Nov. 9 death of Devauoris Lewis, said Dublin Police Chief Keith Moon. Lewis was pronounced dead at 10:39 a.m. Sunday at the hospital, said Laurens County Coroner Richard Stanley. Lewis’ body was transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy Monday. 

According to a DPD incident report, officers were dispatched to Lessons Lounge, 1111 Telfair St., around 12:40 a.m. on Nov. 9 in reference to a shooting. Officers found Lewis with several gunshot wounds.

Lewis was originally taken to Fairview Park Hospital and was later transported to a Macon hospital where he passed away.
