SOFTBALL: David Emanuel comes back to edge Trinity in tight one

The Crusaders led early on, but the Eagles managed a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings to come away with the 4-2 win.

The Trinity Lady Crusaders played just one softball game this week as they hosted David Emanuel on Tuesday. Trinity led early on, but DEA managed a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings to come away with a 4-2 win.

Trinity got on the board first in the second. Chloe Rozier led off the frame with a bunt single and came around to score on an error to make it 1-0.

The Lady Crusaders would add to their lead in the fourth. Liza Gay drew a walk to start the inning.
After a strikeout, she advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Eden Rowe drove her home with a two-out single to make it 2-0.

The Lady Eagles knotted the score up in the top of the fifth on two hits, an error and two walked to make it 2-2.

In the sixth, DEA would convert three straight hits – a double and two singles – into two more runs to go up 4-2 and hold on for the win.

Rowe and Brinley Vinson had a pair of hits each to lead the offense. Rozier and Abby Gillis also had hits.

Trinity (4-10 on the year) is set to return to action next Tuesday, when it will host Twiggs Academy.
