What did Middle Georgia search on Google in 2024?

Whenever you have a burning question, what is your first instinct? For many of us, we pick up our phones and ask our search engine of choice for the answer. 

In the United States, over 90% of search engine users opt to use Google, according to Statcounter.

Google releases its annual Year in Search report at the end of each year through Google Trends, which allows anyone to see what people around the world are searching at any given moment. In 2024, the company revealed some of the world’s top searches, which included topics ranging from the Olympics to the United States election. 

What Google Trends also allows us to see, however, is how certain metropolitan areas used their search engine based on Nielsen Designated Market Areas. Macon’s DMA includes the following counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dodge, Dooly, Hancock, Houston, Johnson, Jones, Laurens, Macon, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, Telfair, Treutlen, Twiggs, Washington, Wheeler, Wilcox and Wilkinson. 

Looking back at 2024, here are some of Middle Georgia’s most interesting search queries and topics. 

Some similar terms were combined to show more information for each list. Lists with quotation marks denote a prompt where a specific word was used in conjunction with the top search terms. 

These terms were not the most searched throughout the year; rather, they represent searches that had the highest increase in frequency compared to previous years.
