BASKETBALL: George goes crazy with 47 for school regulation record as Trinity storms Windsor
Jagger George delivered a historic performance to help the Crusaders hang on late in a high-scoring thriller to complete Tuesday’s region sweep.
The Trinity basketball teams faced off with Windsor Academy on Tuesday in region action, and earned a sweep. The girls broke open a close game late to pull away for the 79-62 victory, while the boys got a historic performance from Jagger George to come away with a 70-66 win in the nightcap.

The Lady Crusaders (15-7, 3-2 region 2-AA) faced off with a much improved Windsor squad, and were in a fight for much of the evening.
Trinity led 19-14 after one quarter, but Windsor won the second period 20-16 to take a 35-34 halftime lead.
The third quarter went back and forth, with Trinity holding a slight lead, 48-46, with just over a minute remaining in the stanza. A pair of 3s from Maddy George and Addie Kendrick would put the Lady Crusaders up 54-46 going to the fourth.
The late flourish would propel a run to put the game away. George hit another pair of threes and Chloe Rozier would score nine in the quarter as Trinity would put up 25 total points. Windsor managed just 16 as the Lady Crusaders pulled away.
Rozier led the way with a season-high 24 and George added 21. Brinley Vinson finished with 18 while Kendrick also reached double digits with 12.
Eighth grader Kennedi Harris led Windsor with 40. Morgan Yuhas had 12 and Kyndall Bowen added 10.

The boys game looked like a fairly even matchup on paper, and did not disappoint as both teams traded leads throughout.
The Crusaders (10-11, 3-2 region) led 14-13 after one quarter, but Windsor won the second 18-15 to hold a slight lead, 31-29, at the half.
The Knights came out to the locker room hot and built an 11-point advantage a couple of minutes into the third quarter. Three straight 3s from Carter Lee, Hayden Bowles and Jagger George got the Crusaders back in it. They would close the period on a run to go up 53-48 headed to the fourth.
Windsor refused to go away as it battled back to take the lead a few times in the final few minutes. But every time Windsor would score, George seemed to have an answer.

The sophomore point guard scored 31 of the Crusaders’ 41 second-half points, and was able to put the game away with a late bucket and some free throws to allow Trinity to hold on for the win.
Greg Brooks led four Knights in double figures with 17. Dawson Sims had 16 while Santiago Medina and Landon Swanson had 10 each.
George ended his record-setting night with 47 – second most in school history and the most ever in a game that ended in regulation. Charles Coleman’s all-time school record of 50 occurred in an overtime game.
Will Foskey added 10.
Trinity returns to action Friday night at Central Fellowship.
