Retired government communications specialist and debut author Angie Tracey goes Slightly Off The Record to discuss her unique career journey, and experiences carrying her faith into the workplace at Atlanta’s CDC that are the subject of her new book.
Dublin native Angie Tracey, a retired government communications specialist and debut author, goes Slightly Off the Record with Kyle Dominy to discuss her recently released book, “On Fire! at Work: Igniting Faith and Ministry in the Workplace,” and recount experiences over a long career that included roles with the Reagan White House, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She starts from her beginnings working in Macon television news, and describes how a “fairytale” journey led on to unexpected opportunities in Washington D.C., working as a press secretary for U.S. Rep. Billy Evans, later with global health advocacy partnership ACTION and ultimately partnering with First Lady Nancy Reagan to spearhead the well-known “Just Say No” campaign. Tracey is best known for founding the U.S. Government’s first Christian employee association in 2001 during her time working with the CDC in Atlanta, and shares how the Lord worked to transform the atmosphere and culture of the agency over the 24 years she spent there. She goes on to explain the principles outlined in her new book, which shows how anyone can live out their faith and make a similar impact in any workplace, large or small.
