Man arrested in connection with fatal shooting

On Sept. 11, the Dublin Police Department requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation assist in looking into the death of Cortez Hicks.
According to Laurens County Deputy Coroner Nathan Stanley, Hicks was pronounced dead at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Fairview Park Hospital.
The police were dispatched at 11:55 a.m. and responded to a home at 422 Jones Village Lane where Hicks was found in the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation led to Gibson being charged with murder and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony.
