“It is always sweet to see the kids dressed up for the candy mile,” said Lacey Baker, a member of the Pilot Club of Dublin, Inc. “Our sponsorships and businesses play a big part in this event. That is always nice. Without them, it would be hard to do anything.”

Baker said the entry fee is $20 for the 1-mile race, $25 for the 5K. Though it is too late to register and receive a t-shirt, participants can still register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/GA/Dublin/MonsterDash5k1MileCandyMile

There will be awards for top three female and male runners in all age divisions and for overall top three female and male runners in both 5k and one-mile race. The age brackets are: 0-6/7-10/11-14/15-19/20-39/40-59/60-over

“We would love to have people come out and participate,” Baker said.

Race packets can be picked up from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Friday or at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Baker said this event is the club’s biggest fundraiser for the year. The money is used to educate students about brain safety, bullying prevention, ATV safety, brain injury prevention, seat belt safety and bus safety. They also do senior shows, where they learn about fall safety and fall prevention, Baker said.
