Middle Georgia Preparatory Academy approved as public charter school for Dublin-Laurens County
State Charter School Commission of Georgia approved Middle Georgia Preparatory Academy to open as a tuition-free public K-8 charter school for Dublin-Laurens County in the fall of 2027.

Middle Georgia Preparatory Academy announced Wednesday that it will open as a tuition-free public K-8 charter school to serve Dublin-Laurens County in the fall of 2027.
Leaders of the school said in a press release that MGPA has received approval during a meeting of the State Charter School Commission of Georgia.
“Our mission has always been simple, every child in this community deserves a place where curiosity is celebrated and excellence is expected,” said Keerthi Vyas, MGPA board vice president, in a press release. “This approval means that vision will become a reality for local families.”
MGPA was one of four new start-up charter schools approved by the charter school commission Wednesday. The other schools are Atlantic Connections Academy, Prestige Preparatory School and Spalding Academy for Innovation and Learning.
“Every child in Georgia deserves a strong academic foundation and a clear view of where their education can take them,” SCSC Board Chair Cayanna Good said in a separate press release. “Each of these schools, in its own way, connects what students learn in the classroom to real college and career opportunities, from hands-on career exploration in the elementary grades to individualized learning aligned to high-demand career pathways. The commission is proud to offer Georgia families these new public-school options, and prouder still of what these schools have committed to deliver.”
Led by a “Gifted for All” philosophy, outlined in the press release, MGPA believes every child possesses unique gifts and deserves the opportunity to discover, develop and maximize those gifts through personalized learning, meaningful relationships and authentic opportunities to excel. School leaders have an united, innovative community where every child is inspired to grow, belong and make a difference in a changing world and its mission is to nurture curious, capable and compassionate students through safe, creative learning and strong family and community partnerships.
“Through its school-wide commitment to L.I.F.T. (Love First, Innovate with Purpose, Flourish Through Excellence, and Together We Thrive) MGPA is building more than a school. As a public charter school, MGPA will be tuition-free and open to all resident K-8 students, with enrollment subject to standard public charter school procedures, including a random lottery if applications exceed available seats,” leaders said in the press release.
